A code signing certificate adds a layer of protection for software script and code, preventing alteration by third-party entities.
Title Editor allows you to use your own publicly trusted code signing certificate to code-sign patch definitions. This enables you to select the Validate Software Title Definitions option when configuring an external patch source in Jamf Pro.
To use this option, purchase a publicly trusted code signing certificate, in PKCS12 (.p12) format, including the private key, and then upload the code signing certificate to Title Editor using the following steps:
- In Title Editor, click Settings.
- Click Endpoints.
- Click Upload.
- Choose a publicly trusted code-signing certificate in .p12 format and provide the password.
- Click Save.
- Select the Code-sign patch definitions checkbox to sign patch definitions with a publicly trusted certificate.
