Title Editor Authentication Change

Beginning with Jamf Pro 11.28.0, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) authentication is used to communicate with Title Editor instead of the Cloud Services connection. M2M authentication is available only for Jamf Pro cloud-hosted instances. If you have an on-premise Jamf Pro instance and use Title Editor, the following limitations apply:

  • New Title Editor tenants cannot be created for on-premise Jamf Pro instances.

  • Existing connections between Jamf Pro and Title Editor remain in place. You can continue to use your existing Title Editor tenant as a patch management source.

  • Save your Title Editor hostname URL. If the connection between Jamf Pro and your Title Editor tenant is removed, Jamf Pro cannot automatically re-establish it. To reconnect, navigate to Settings > Computer management > Patch management and enter the hostname URL for your Title Editor tenant in the Server and Port field.

Software Title Requirements Criteria Change

The requirements criteria available when creating software titles in Title Editor now include only:
  • Application Bundle ID
  • Application Title
  • Application Version
  • Operating System
  • Operating System Build
  • Operating System Name
  • Operating System Rapid Security Response
  • Operating System Version
  • Platform

Previously, all smart group criteria were available as requirements, which could cause data processing issues in Jamf Pro. For existing software titles using unsupported criteria, update the requirements to use one of the supported criteria listed above. Titles with unsupported criteria may not function properly.
