Important:

Note:

If you are upgrading from MySQL 5.6, you must perform an incremental upgrade to MySQL 5.7 before upgrading to MySQL 8.0. The steps for upgrading from MySQL 5.6 to 5.7 are similar to the steps provided in this article for upgrading from MySQL 5.7 to MySQL 8.0. Perform the steps in this article to upgrade to 5.7, then repeat the steps to upgrade from MySQL 5.7 to MySQL 8.0.
