You can migrate mobile devices enrolled via Automated Device Enrollment from Jamf Now to Jamf Pro. Mobile devices enrolled via Automated Device Enrollment have non-removable MDM profiles, which requires them to be unmanaged directly from the Jamf Now dashboard.

Requirements

(Optional) Mobile devices assigned to a PreStage enrollment in Jamf Pro. For more information on PreStage enrollments, see Automated Device Enrollment for Mobile Devices in the Jamf Pro Documentation.

  1. In Jamf Now, click Devices.
  2. For each individual mobile device you want to migrate to Jamf Pro, navigate to the mobile device dashboard, and then click on the Action pop-up menu (•••) in the top-right corner and select Unenroll device.
  3. Click Unenroll.

The MDM profile is removed from the device.

Note:The device's supervision status does not change when you unmanage it.
  4. Enroll the mobile device with Jamf Pro. For more information on enrolling mobile devices with Jamf Pro, see Enrollment with Jamf Pro in the Jamf Pro Documentation.
    Note:

To enroll a mobile device with Jamf Pro using Automated Device Enrollment, the device must be wiped after unmanaging it from Jamf Now. If the device cannot be wiped, enroll the device using user-initiated enrollment or account-driven Device Enrollment.

The selected mobile devices are unmanaged from Jamf Now and enrolled with Jamf Pro.
