You can migrate computers enrolled via Open Enrollment from Jamf Now to Jamf Pro. Computers enrolled via Open Enrollment have removable MDM profiles, which allows for the MDM profile to be removed directly from the computer.

You can migrate computers enrolled via Open Enrollment by following the steps provided in Migrating Computers Enrolled via Auto-Enrollment, or if you prefer to remove the MDM profile from computers directly, you can use the following alternate workflow.

Requirements

(Optional) Computers assigned to a PreStage enrollment in Jamf Pro. For more information on PreStage enrollments, see Automated Device Enrollment for Computers in the Jamf Pro Documentation.

  1. On the computer you want to unmanage from Jamf Now, open System Settings (macOS 13 or later).
  2. Click the Search field in the top right corner of the window, and type "Profiles". Select Profiles from the list.

A list of installed profiles is displayed.

  3. Select MDM Profile from the list, then click the minus sign at the bottom of the window to unmanage the computer.
  4. Enroll the computer with Jamf Pro. For more information on enrolling computers with Jamf Pro, see Enrollment with Jamf Pro in the Jamf Pro Documentation.
    Note:

To enroll a computer that is currently in a PreStage enrollment in Jamf Pro without wiping it, open Terminal and execute the follow command: sudo profiles renew -type enrollment.

The selected computers are unmanaged from Jamf Now and enrolled with Jamf Pro.
