You can use the following keys within the obliterationBehavior option to manage the fallback behavior on the target computer:

  • DoNotObliterate
    The computer does not attempt to erase itself under the following conditions:
    • The preflight check fails, and the computer responds to the server with an Error status

    • The preflight check succeeds, but Erase All Content and Settings fails

  • ObliterateWithWarningThe computer attempts to erase itself with a warning under the following conditions:
    • The preflight check fails, and the computer responds with an Acknowledged status

    • The preflight check succeeds, but Erase All Content and Settings fails

  • AlwaysMac computers with the T2 chip or later will always obliterate. Erase All Content and Settings is bypassed.
  • DefaultThe computer attempts to erase itself under the following conditions:
    • The preflight check fails, and the device responds to the server with an Error status

    • The preflight check succeeds, but Erase All Content and Settings fails
