You can use Jamf Pro to enable organization-based Activation Lock for a device that is in Apple Business or Apple School Manager. You can configure the mobile device PreStage enrollments settings to enable organization-based Activation Lock during enrollment, or use the Set Activation Lock command, which allows you to enable Activation Lock on a currently enrolled mobile device.
Note:
You can also use a mass action to enable device-based Activation Lock on multiple mobile devices at the same time. For more information, see Mass Actions for Mobile Devices.
Requirements
To use Jamf Pro to enable organization-based Activation Lock, you need the following:
Mobile devices in Apple Business or Apple School Manager
- Supervised mobile devices
- To enable organization-based Activation Lock during enrollment, do the following:
- In Jamf Pro, click Devices in the sidebar.
- Click Prestage Enrollments.
- Select an existing Prestage Enrollment.
- Click Edit .
- Select the Prevent user from enabling Activation Lock checkbox.
- Select the Enable Activation Lock on the device checkbox.
- Click Save .
- To enable organization-based Activation Lock after a device is already enrolled, do the following:
- In Jamf Pro, click Devices in the sidebar.
- Perform a simple or advanced mobile device search.
- Click the mobile device you want enable organization-based Activation Lock on.
- Click the Management tab, and then click the Set Activation Lock command.
- Select Enable Activation Lock on the device and then click Set Activation Lock.
