Note:

If you assign an app to a device that currently has that same app installed, the previously installed app will not be replaced with the newly assigned app. For mobile devices, if an app was installed as unmanaged, you can bring it under management by selecting both the Make app managed when possible and Convert unmanaged app to managed checkboxes under the General tab when adding the app to Jamf Pro.

  1. In Jamf Pro, navigate to the appropriate App Catalog:

    • For macOS apps, click Computers in the sidebar and then click Mac Apps.

    • For iOS apps, click Devices in the sidebar and then click Mobile Device Apps.

  2. Add a new app or edit an existing one.
  3. Click the Scope tab and add devices to the scope.
  4. Click the Managed Distribution tab and select Device Assignments.
  5. Select Assign VPP Content.
  6. Choose a VPP account and click Save.
