The Jamf Compliance Editor is a tool that streamlines establishing your compliance baseline. Jamf Compliance Editor provides automatic management setting creation for rules authored through the consensus of global security experts to ensure security against cyber threats.

  1. Open the Jamf Compliance Editor.
  2. Select the platform for which you want to create a baseline.
  3. Select Create new project.
  4. Select your operating system version and click Create.
  5. Select the location for the project.
  6. Select the benchmark whose rules you want to use for your security benchmark, such as the Center for Internet Security Level 1.
  7. Select the rules you want to include in your baseline:
    1. In Sections, select the category of security rules you want to include in your baseline.
    2. In Rules, select the rules you want to include in your baseline.
  8. Click Create Guidance to create a configuration profile, compliance script, and extension attributes.

Your selected benchmarks and created guidance generate in the directory you previously chose as the following file formats

  • .mobileconfig (configuration profile)

  • .sh (compliance script)

  • .xml (extension attributes)

  • .plist (configuration profile

You can upload the resulting security settings to your UEM.
