Deploying an Activation Profile to Enable Jamf Protect on Mobile Devices

Use an activation profile in Jamf Security Cloud to deploy Jamf Protect to mobile devices through your UEM of MDM solution.

Note:

If you have already followed the instructions in the Distribute the Jamf Trust App with Jamf Pro documentation, you may have already deployed an activation profile to devices. If so, disregard this step and advance to the next step in the workflow.

Requirements

  • Administrator access to your Jamf Pro account

  • Access to the administrative portal of Jamf Protect

  • Access to Jamf Security Cloud to use a pre-configured activation profile

  1. In Jamf Security Cloud, navigate to Devices > Activation profiles > Default Activation Profile.
  2. In the Managed deployment section, under Select your UEM solution, select Jamf Pro.
  3. Under Select your OS, select the iOS and iPadOS option that reflects the supervision status and OS version of the devices you want to enroll.
  4. Under Configuration profiles, click Download configuration profile.
  5. Under Managed app configuration, click Download managed app config.
  6. In Jamf Pro, click Devices in the sidebar.
  7. Click Configuration Profiles in the sidebar.
  8. Click Upload .
  9. Choose the configuration profile downloaded previously, and then click Upload.
  10. (Optional) Add a Name, Description or Category, if needed.
  11. Click Scope and select the device group to which you want to deploy the profile.
  12. Click Save .
  13. (Optional) Repeat this process for the other supervision status or OS versions earlier or later than 16.

The activation profile is deployed to your mobile devices.
