The Jamf School integration supports the following features:

  • Device lifecycle management

  • Group mapping

  • Groupless device syncing

  • Location syncing

  • Syncing of macOS devices

  • Device field mapping

  • App inventory syncing (for App Insights)

  • UEM Signaling for data usage policies

Conditional Access is not supported.

Requirements

  • Jamf Security Cloud administrator access

  • A Jamf School administrator account with Read, Add, and Edit permissions (defined under Administrator > Role).
    Note:

    Jamf recommends that you create a dedicated account with the required permissions

  • A Jamf School API key and network ID with Read, Add, and Edit access rights. For information on how to generate these, see the Jamf School API documentation (defined under Organization > Settings > API).

  • iOS, iPadOS, or macOS devices that are enrolled with Jamf School and have assigned users and email addresses. To confirm a device is assigned an email address in Jamf School, go to Users > Users > [your user] > Profile.

  • Ability to create network firewall exceptions, as required.

  1. Log in to Jamf Security Cloud as an admin, and choose the portal that you want to configure with UEM Connect.
  2. Navigate to Integrations > UEM Connect.
  3. Select Jamf School in the UEM vendor pull-down menu.
  4. Copy and paste the Jamf School URL into the UEM server URL field.

    Your Jamf School URL is listed in Organization > Settings. For example: JAMF_URL.jamfcloud.com/

  5. Enter the Network ID and API key copied from Jamf School.

    Your Network ID is listed in Devices > Enroll Device(s) > On-device enrollment (iOS & macOS) in Jamf School. Instructions for creating an API key are found on this page.

  6. Click Save.

UEM Connect is now configured for Jamf School. Jamf Security Cloud and Jamf School will regularly sync information.

Note:Devices will only show up as being eligible to sync once the Jamf Jamf Security Cloud activation profile is installed.
