If your devices are managed by an MDM, you must pause your cloud proxy activation profiles to prevent new enrollments, create a new activation profile using a different traffic vectoring method, and then scope the devices into the new activation profile in your MDM.

Requirements
  • iOS or iPadOS devices enrolled with an MDM solution

  • Devices enrolled with Jamf Security Cloud using the cloud proxy traffic vectoring method

  1. In the Jamf Security Cloud portal, go to Devices > Activation profiles, and select the checkbox for your proxy-based configuration profiles.
  2. Click Pause.
  3. Click Create profile.
  4. Create an activation profile that includes one or more of the following service capabilities, depending on your use cases:
    • Network access
    • Network security
    • Content controls
Note:For unsupervised devices, Secure DNS is the default traffic vectoring method. For supervised devices, the default is Secure DNS + On-device.
For more information about creating a new activation profile, see Creating an Activation Profile using Jamf Security Cloud.
  5. In your MDM portal, distribute the new activation profile to devices with the Jamf Trust app installed:
    1. Find the Jamf Trust application assigned to the devices to be re-enrolled, and unscope all devices.
    2. Replace the existing app configuration with the one generated as part of the new activation profile you just created.
    3. Find the proxy-based configuration profile assigned to the devices to be re-enrolled, and unscope all devices.
    4. Create a new configuration profile based on the one generated as part of the new activation profile.
    5. Scope devices to be re-enrolled to the Jamf Trust application.
    6. Scope the devices to be re-enrolled to the newly created configuration profile.
