Configure UEM Auto-Delete Behavior
In this area, you can choose if devices are kept or removed from Jamf Security Cloud based on changes in your UEM solution. You can choose from the following "automatic device deletion" options in Jamf Security Cloud:
- Keep deleted or retired devices in Jamf Security Cloud
-
In this mode, devices are never automatically deleted from Jamf Security Cloud. When devices are deleted or retired from the UEM solution (or are removed from a Jamf Security Cloud provisioning group), their corresponding "UEMC" indicator is highlighted in red under in Jamf Security Cloud. An administrator can manually delete highlighted devices from Jamf Security Cloud. With this option selected, you can search for and remove devices from Jamf Security Cloud when required.
- Remove deleted or retired devices from Jamf Security Cloud
-
Devices are automatically removed from Jamf Security Cloud if they are deleted or retired from the UEM solution. Otherwise, the devices are marked with the red "UEMC" indicator described above for "keep" mode.
- Remove deleted or unmanaged devices from Jamf Security Cloud
-
This option appears only for Jamf Pro integrations. Devices are automatically removed from Jamf Security Cloud if they are deleted or retired from the UEM solution, or if their status changes to "Unmanaged" in the UEM solution. Otherwise, the devices are marked with the red "UEMC" indicator described above for "keep" mode.
Signaling Device Risk State to the UEM Solution
The Device risk UEM signaling setting forwards your device risk state to the UEM solution. If you use Microsoft Intune, you must enable device risk signaling by navigating to .
Before enabling this setting, make sure your UEM solution user account has the required permissions to allow device risk signaling. Consult your UEM solution administrator for assistance.
The UEM solution will configure a custom attribute or label for the device according to its risk state: Secure, Low, Medium or High.
Sync Refresh Interval
This configuration defines the interval that UEM Connect should use between synchronizations with the connected UEM solution. The higher the frequency, the more up-to-date the information, but this comes at an UEM infrastructure load cost that must be considered. For example, some UEM solutions only permit a specific number of requests per day to avoid becoming overloaded.
The available options range from 1 to 24 hours.
You can also disable the sync automatically when the account used for syncing is locked or the account password expires. This prevents issuing unnecessary requests towards the UEM solution, which would fail anyway. You will receive an email notification if syncing is paused. This feature can be switched off in Sync refresh interval section of the page in Jamf Security Cloud.
For further information and guidance, contact Jamf Support.
Device Check-in Threshold
This setting defines the time period allowed between UEM check-ins before a device is marked as unmanaged.
The available options range from 1 to 30 days. The default is 3 days.
This setting is not available for Jamf Pro integrations because Jamf Pro manages the device management status.
Concurrent device sync
This setting controls whether multiple devices (up to 10) are allowed to sync data simultaneously between the UEM and Jamf Security Cloud. Concurrent syncing provides faster inventory updates but can increase load on your UEM instance. Disable this setting if your UEM instance becomes slow or returns errors.
