Jamf School Student is a free app that students can use to access apps, profiles, and documents that are assigned to them. It is used in conjunction with the Jamf Teacher app to allow teachers to manage student devices in their classes. Jamf School Student management capabilities are configured in Jamf School by navigating to Organization > Settings > Jamf School Student. For more information about how to configure these features, see Jamf School Student Integration with Jamf School in the Jamf School Documentation.

Depending on the settings your school enables, students can do the following using Jamf School Student:
  • View apps, documents, and profiles that are assigned to them

  • Send and receive messages from their teacher

  • Raise their hand to ask their teacher a question

  • View and perform available operating system updates for their device, refresh their device, clear the passcode, clear activation lock, or wipe the device
