Consider the following when uploading content tokens to Jamf School:
- Content tokens can only be used in one MDM or Apple Configurator instance at a time.
If you are using a Jamf School trial instance and have a content token in another MDM or Apple Configurator, create a new location in Apple School Manager and upload the content token to your Jamf School trial instance. When you are no longer using the other MDM, you can delete the content token from the other MDM or Apple Configurator and upload it to Jamf School or continue using the content token you set up during the trial.
If you purchased Jamf School and have a content token in another MDM or Apple Configurator, you can either create a new location in Apple School Manager and upload the content token to Jamf School or you can remove the content token from the other MDM or Apple Configurator and reclaim the token in Jamf School.
Important:If you have a content token in another MDM, Jamf recommends consulting with the other MDM before uploading the content token to Jamf School to avoid potential application uninstallation.
If you upload a new token to renew distributed content licenses, Jamf recommends that you do not delete the previous token from Jamf School before uploading the new server token because it may cause applications to be uninstalled.
If you configured a location and it does not have a content token, a content token from another location in Jamf School can be shared or manually uploaded within that location. You can also create a separate location in Apple School Manager to generate a unique content token that can be manually uploaded to the location in Jamf School. For more information, see Manage content tokens in Apple School Manager in the Apple School Manager User Guide.
Note:Jamf recommends that you only use one Apple School Manager account to integrate with volume purchasing. Using more than one account makes it difficult to isolate the account causing the issues when troubleshooting.
If you delete a location, the instance is removed from Jamf School but the settings in Apple School Manager are not deleted.
