Before users can receive apps and books through managed distribution, they must be invited to volume purchasing. When a user accepts a volume purchasing invitation and is associated with a volume purchasing content token in Jamf School, app and book licenses can be distributed to that user. Jamf School supports multiple methods for sending volume purchasing invitations.
Note:
After accepting the volume purchasing invitation, users must be signed in to the App Store with an Apple Account to receive assigned apps and books. Users cannot receive apps and books if they do not have an Apple Account.
Note the following when distributing content licenses:
Book licenses cannot be revoked and reassigned once they are assigned to a user's Apple Account.
- App licenses can be revoked at any time and reassigned to another user. If an app requires in-app purchases, you must assign an app license to the user.Note:
If a user is not correctly associated with a content token and is assigned an app license, the app license is assigned to their device instead.
