After you have downloaded the token from Apple School Manager, you can add apps and books to Jamf School by uploading the token to Jamf School.

Requirements

To distribute apps with Apple School Manager, you must first transfer content licenses to a location and download the content token. After assigning content to a location, you can navigate to Settings > Apps and Books in Apple School Manager to download the content token.

  1. Log in to Apple School Manager at https://school.apple.com.
  2. Click on your account name in the lower-left corner, and then choose "Preferences" from the pop-up menu.
  3. Click Payments and Billing.
  4. Under the Apps and Books tab, click the correct server location token. The token downloads to the Downloads folder on your computer.
  5. In Jamf School, navigate to Organization > Settings in the sidebar.
  6. Click the Content (Volume Purchasing) payload.
  7. Click Add Content Token.
  8. (Optional) If you intend to use a token for user assignments instead of device assignments, select the Upload content token for user assignments only checkbox.
    Note:

    You can add tokens for device-based assignments and tokens for user-based app assignments as needed. Each token can be used for either device-based assignments or user-based app assignments, but not both.

  9. In the Name field, enter a display name for the content token.
  10. In the Content token field, drag and drop or click to upload your token file.
  11. Click Apply.
  12. Click Edit .
  13. If this account is not your primary account, deselect the Default token checkbox.
  14. To invite users to Apple School Manager when they enroll in Jamf School, select the Automatically invite user checkbox. This can be performed by either a pop-up notification on the device or by adding a web clip to the Home Screen.
    Note:

    Web clip invitations are deprecated and will be removed in a future Jamf School release. While this option may display when configuring automatic invitations in the Content token settings pop-up dialog, it is no longer supported and Jamf does not recommend configuring it.

  15. Use the Allowed locations pop-up menu to indicate which locations the token will be applied to.
  16. Click Apply.

The content is added to the Apps or Documents table in Jamf School.
