- In Jamf School, navigate to in the sidebar.
- Click + Add App, and then choose from the pop-up menu.
- In the pop-up dialog, upload the Jamf Protect PKG that you previously downloaded.
- On the app details page for the Jamf Protect PKG, click the + icon in the lower-left corner and choose the smart group that you previously created.
- Click the Settings
icon on the right side of the page and choose Change to automatic installation for all groups. - Click Save.
The Jamf Protect PKG is deployed to target computers the next time they check in with Jamf School. To confirm that the Jamf Protect PKG has correctly installed on target computers, review the Devices in scope table on the app details page and verify that the Status column displays "Installed (managed)" for each computer.
If automatic Jamf Protect agent updates are enabled in the plan configuration profile you distributed to computers, Jamf Protect will update automatically on those computers. However, in Jamf School, the computer's details page and the app details page for the Jamf Protect PKG will not reflect the new Jamf Protect version number.
To update the version number displayed in Jamf School, download the latest Jamf Protect PKG from Jamf Protect and replace the existing Jamf Protect PKG in Jamf School.
