Single App Mode allows you to configure a device for a specific purpose. Using Single App Mode lets you lock any supervised iPadOS, iOS, or tvOS device to one app to focus the device for a single need.
A feature of Single App Mode is that you can control how users interact with the device by enabling or disabling any of the following:
-
Touch input
-
Screen rotation
-
Volume control
-
Ring/silent switch
-
Sleep/wake button
-
Screen auto-lock
-
Accessibility features
-
You cannot manually or automatically update an app while the app is in Single App Mode.
-
You cannot manually shut down or restart a device when it is in Single App Mode. You can still send a Shutdown or Restart command from Jamf School to power off or restart the device.
For more information on these remote commands, see Quick Action Commands for Device Management.
