- In Jamf School, navigate to in the sidebar.
- Click the name of the device you want to remove the recurring license from.
- Select Move to trash from the Quick Actions section on the left side of the pane.
- Click Yes when prompted to move the device to the Trash.
The recurring license is removed from the device and is automatically assigned to newly managed devices. If you want to remanage the device, you can click the name of the device and select Put back from the Quick Actions section on the left side of the pane. The device will be managed again, but static group memberships, the device user assignment, profiles, apps, and documents must be reconfigured.
Moving a device to the Trash does not remove its MDM profile or wipe the device. To remove the MDM profile, you must unenroll the device before moving it to the Trash. For more information, see Device Removal from Jamf School.
If you click Put back for a device that had its MDM profile removed, you must re-enroll the device. If you click Put back for a device that did not have its MDM profile removed, the profile will still be on the device, and you will not need to re-enroll the device.
