Save the Find My Mac PIN for future reference

If you do not plan to unlock the computer within 30 days, enter the PIN in the Notes field in Device Details after you send the Lock Device command.

For computers with Apple silicon and macOS 11.5 or later, you can also configure a phone number to display on the home screen when the computer is locked.

Note:
To locate the Find My Mac PIN used to lock the computer, do the following:
  1. In Jamf School, navigate to Devices > Inventory in the sidebar.

  2. Click the name of the computer you want to locate the PIN for.

  3. Click Activity Log. The Lock Device command and its PIN display in the log for 30 days after you send the command.
