A lifetime license is a license you can buy for a single device in your Jamf School instance. This license is tied to a serial number, cannot be transferred, and is valid as long as the device is managed in your Jamf School instance. It is recommended that you assign a license to a device before or immediately after enrolling the device. For more information on how to enroll devices, see Enrollment Methods.
Jamf recommends that you only assign lifetime licenses to new devices.
You can assign licenses via an Automated Device Enrollment profile or manually.
Once a lifetime license is assigned to a device, it cannot be reassigned to another device.
A device can be assigned a lifetime license only once. If a device is assigned a lifetime license and changes Jamf School instances, it cannot be assigned a lifetime license in the new instance.
