When you integrate Jamf School with Apple School Manager, you choose Jamf School user criteria to match with Apple School Manager user criteria. Users that are imported to Jamf School are matched to existing users in Jamf School based on the selected user criteria.
If you are syncing from Apple School Manager and have pre-existing manually created usernames or usernames synced from LDAP having the same username in Apple School Manager, you want to match the pre-existing usernames already in Jamf School so only one record with roster information synchronizes without creating duplicates.
