You can license Jamf Connect by downloading a Jamf Connect license file (.jamfconnectlicense) from Jamf Account and then uploading it to a configuration profile in the Jamf Connect Configuration app. This embeds the license directly in the exported configuration profile. For more information, see Creating a Configuration Profile using Jamf Connect Configuration in the Jamf Connect Documentation.
Best Practice:

Configuration profile for the license key

Jamf recommends creating a configuration profile with just the license key. This allows you to manage your product license and Jamf Connect settings separately.

Requirements
  • A Jamf Connect or Jamf Connect Basic subscription associated with your Jamf ID to download a license

  • Access to the Jamf Connect Configuration app
    Note:

The Jamf Connect DMG includes the Jamf Connect Configuration app. To install Jamf Connect Configuration, open the Jamf Connect DMG and drag Jamf Connect Configuration to the Applications folder.

  1. In the Jamf Account portal, navigate to the Jamf Connect page.
  2. Click Download License File to download the Jamf Connect license file.
  3. In Jamf Connect Configuration, click the + icon in the lower-left corner of the window.
  4. Click Choose License..., and then upload the new license file.
  5. In the Apple menu bar, click File > Save.
  6. In the Application section, choose Jamf Connect.
  7. In the File Format section, choose Configuration Profile .mobileconfig.
  8. In the Payload Configuration Profile Data section, enter your organization's name in the Organization field.
  9. Click Save.

The license file is embedded in a Jamf Connect configuration profile that is ready to be uploaded to Jamf School for deployment.
