General Requirements

Jamf recommends continuing to use version 2.45.1 instead of updating to version 3.0.0. This will preserve the existing menu bar capabilities for Jamf Connect and not affect existing deployments.

Jamf recommends using version 3.0.0 or later and deploying Self Service+ as a package in order to avoid repeated keychain authentication prompts in Jamf Connect. Note that the Jamf Connect menu bar app was deprecated in version 3.0.0. Account management capabilities previously available in the menu bar (e.g., password syncing and privilege elevation) are now integrated with Self Service+, but you will still create a configuration profile for account management settings in the Jamf Connect Configuration app.

On-demand app deployment capabilities are not currently available for Jamf School users through Self Service+, but remain available through Jamf Teacher and Jamf School Student.
