To distribute books purchased in Apple School Manager to users, you need:
Apple School Manager must be integrated with Jamf School. For more information, see Volume Purchasing Integration.
- A content token configured for user-based assignments.Important:
In Jamf School, tokens with a V2 tag do not support user-based assignments. To obtain a token that can be used for user-based assignments, create a new location in Apple School Manager that will be used only for book distribution and download the location's token. Then upload the token to Jamf School as a new, secondary token, ensuring that you select the Upload content token for user assignments only checkbox on the Add Content Token pop-up dialog.

Users with a Managed Apple Account assigned to the location token uploaded to Jamf School.
Apple School Manager synchronization configured with Invite users to register with volume purchasing enabled.
When distributing books from Apple School Manager to users, the user with an Apple Account must accept an invitation.
