After adding books purchased in volume to Jamf School, you can distribute them to a Shared iPad via Classes. The books are then assigned to the users with Managed Apple Accounts in the class.
Note:

Once books are assigned to a Managed Apple Account, they cannot be reassigned.

Requirements

To distribute books purchased in volume to a Shared iPad, the Shared iPad must be added to a class. For more information, see Adding Shared iPad Devices to Classes.

  1. In Jamf School, navigate to Classes in the sidebar.
  2. Select the class you want to distribute the book to.
  3. Click Documents.
  4. Select the book you want to make available in the the class.
    Best Practice:

    Test the workflow first by distributing a free book to ensure your setup is working as expected before distributing paid books.

The book can be found in the Apple Books app under Library > Books.

If books are not assigned to users in the expected time frame, you can initiate a synchronization by navigating to the Jamf School dashboard and clicking Synchronize Now.
