Jamf School collects inventory information from computers and mobile devices when they check in to Jamf School. By default, devices check in every two hours. The default check-in frequency cannot be modified and is calculated based on the last default check-in, not the last event check-in. Devices also check in during the following events:
A quick action command is sent to the device.
An app, document, or package is installed on the device.
An administrator manually clicks Refresh in the device inventory information.
When a device checks in, inventory information such as the location, installed apps, managed apps, and OS updates is updated in the device's inventory information. For more information about the inventory information collected during a device check-in, see Device Inventory Information Reference.
If a device is inactive, it is not unenrolled. Management functionality is retained when the device is reconnected to the internet.
