Profiles in Jamf School provide an easy way to define settings and restrictions for devices. When you upload the Jamf Connect configuration profiles to Jamf School, you are specifying the identity provider (IdP) that will be used, as well as the settings that are relevant to that IdP.

There are three Jamf Connect configuration profiles to upload to Jamf School:
  • License file configuration profile

  • Menu bar configuration profile (Jamf Connect 2.45.1 or earlier) or account management configuration profile (Jamf Connect 3.0.0 or later)

  • Login window configuration profile

  1. In Jamf School, navigate to Profiles > Overview in the sidebar.
  2. Click + Create Profile.
  3. Select Upload custom profile.
  4. Upload one of the Jamf Connect configuration profiles (.mobileconfig), and then click Next.
  5. Enter a name for the profile in the Profile name field, and then click Next.
  6. Ensure the Use time filter checkbox is deselected, and then click Finish.
  7. Repeat steps 1–6 for each remaining Jamf Connect configuration profile.

The Jamf Connect profiles display in the list of profiles on the Profiles > Overview page.

After uploading all Jamf Connect profiles, test the configuration on a single device in Jamf School. To do so, navigate to Devices > Inventory, click the name of the test device, click Managed Profiles in the list on the left side of the pane, and click + Add Profiles in the upper right. Then click Add on the right side of each Jamf Connect profile's row.
