Configuring Apple TV Profiles

- In Jamf School, navigate to in the sidebar.
- Click + Create Profile.
- Select the tvOS operating system.
- Enter a name in the Profile name field and configure the additional settings as needed, including the time filter.
- Click Finish.
- In the list of payloads on the left side of the pane, locate the tvOS payload category.
- To configure restricted functionality and media content, click the Restrictions payload and then click Configure to configure the settings.
- To lock the Apple TV in a single app, click the Single App Mode payload, click Configure and then select the Lock device to one specific app checkbox to configure the settings.
- To use Apple TV as a conference room display so users can share their screen from a Mac, iOS device, or iPadOS device using AirPlay, click the Conference Room Display payload and then click Activate to configure the display message.
When Conference Room Display is turned on, a message appears on the display with AirPlay connection instructions and wireless network details.
- To lock the Apple TV to a particular style of AirPlay security, click the AirPlay Security payload and then click Configure to set the security and access types.
- In the list of payloads on the left side of the pane, locate the tvOS payload (Supervised only) category.
- To configure the allowed and restricted apps and categories, click the Safelist and Blocklist payload and then click Configure.
- To configure how apps display on the Apple TV home screen, click the Layout payload and then click Configure to configure the basic settings, including dragging and dropping apps in the desired layout. Apps must be installed in order to display on the device.
- (For tvOS 11.3 or later only) To configure the list of iOS devices that can control the Apple TV, click the Apple TV Remote payload and then click Configure to either allow all devices with the Apple TV Remote app to control the Apple TV or add iOS devices to the safelist.
- In the list of payloads on the left side of the pane, locate the General category and click the Scope payload.
- Configure the scope of the profile by clicking the + icon and adding device groups to the profile scope using the pop-up menu.
- Click the Settings
icon, and click Change to automatic installation for all groups. The profile is distributed to Apple TV devices in the scope automatically. - Click Save.
