Clearing a Passcode on a Device

You can clear the passcode on one or more devices by sending the Clear Passcode quick action command to the devices.

  1. In Jamf School, navigate to Devices > Inventory in the sidebar.
  2. Select the checkbox next to each device that you want to clear the passcode on.
  3. Click More in the upper-right corner, and then choose "Clear Passcode" from the pop-up menu.
  4. Click Clear.
    Note:

    You can also clear the passcode on a single device by clicking Clear Passcode in the Details pane on the device details page.

The passcode is immediately removed from the device. If the device is not online, the passcode will be removed the next time the device is online.

If you clear the passcode on a device with a passcode requirement enforced by a profile or blueprint, the device user will be prompted to set a new passcode.
