You can use this method in situations where devices are not purchased or managed centrally. Each location in Jamf School can be registered as a separate MDM server in Apple School Manager. Once the devices are assigned to a specific location, that location can operate autonomously with regard to each of its devices.
To use this method, you must have a server token from Apple School Manager stored in Jamf School. For more information, see Apple School Manager Integration. Once this is completed, you can assign devices directly to the Apple School Manager location in Jamf School by selecting the location from the chosen school at the bottom of the sidebar, and then clicking Locations, and then enrolling devices.
