Unexpected content blocks occur due to the following issues:
  • The domain belongs to a blocked category in your content policy.

  • Your security policy and your content policy do not align, and the security rules block the domain even though your content rules or custom rules allow it.

  • Real-time monitoring and analysis detects a security threat.

To allow access to the blocked content, you can refine your web protection policy or request recategorization of a domain using the steps below.

  1. Go to Policies > Web Protection Policies.
  2. Click the Domain checker tab.
  3. Enter the domain and click Check.
  4. Review the Content filtering categories field to determine how the domain is categorized.
    1. Check the Content rules tab to determine whether the category is blocked or allowed.

    2. If the category is blocked, add a custom rule to allow the domain, or to allow a subdomain.

  5. Review the Web threat categories field. If a threat is detected, do one of the following:
    1. Click Suggest a change and enter your reasoning in the text field, then click Send request. A member of the ThreatLabs team will review the request and recategorize the domain if it does not pose a threat.

    2. Click the Security rules tab and unblock the category.

      Note:

Unblocking the category will allow access to all domains within the category. Send a request to recategorize the domain if you want the category to remain blocked.
