You can add an extra layer of security to your Safe Internet account by turning on two-factor authentication (2FA).

  • When 2FA is enabled for an admin account, the admin enters a security code and password during login.

  • The security code is obtained from an authentication app on their mobile device.

Requirements

A compatible authentication app on your device. Safe Internet supports most time-based one-time password (TOTP) applications, including the following:

Hardware and OSSupported Authentications Apps
Apple (iOS and iPadOS)
  • Google Authenticator

  • Duo Mobile

  • 1Password

  • Authy

  1. In the Safe Internet portal, click Profile in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Account.
  3. Click to Enable.
  4. Click Continue on the next page.
  5. Open your authentication and scan the QR code displayed or enter to a security code manually.
  6. On the 2FA configuration page, enter the security code from your authentication app, then click Continue.
  7. Click Complete.

2FA is enabled for your account. When you log in to Safe Internet you must enter a security code from the authentication app.

The Account page is updated to indicate that 2FA is configured. The backup codes are also displayed.
