The Jamf Trust app has been designed not to interfere with any installed VPN. This means that the app will not apply your policies to any traffic over your VPN by default.

You must configure Jamf Trust to identify and interoperate with all VPN clients on your devices so that it can apply policy to the traffic that passes through them.

Requirements

  • The name of the relevant VPN or VPNs. To find these, open the Device Manager on a Windows device, and expand the Network adapters menu. The VPN names usually contain the term "VPN" and the name of the VPN provider.

  • The public IP addresses of the VPN concentrators. Consult your network team for support if required.

  1. In Safe Internet, navigate to Settings > Windows > Windows VPN Interoperability.
  2. Click Add VPN under VPN Interoperability.
  3. Complete the fields as follows:
    • Connection name —

      The name must match the name of the VPN on your Windows devices. Jamf Trust uses it in a wildcard expression to look for matching network adapters.

    • IP Addresses —

      The public IP addresses of the VPN concentrators

  4. Click Save.
    Jamf Trust can interoperate with the VPN and apply policy to all data passed through it on all deployed devices.
  5. Repeat as required for additional VPNs.
