You have the option to move your data from Jamf's data center in the United States to the one in the European Union, or vice versa. You might need to do this for legal or compliance reasons. The migration process involves a series of steps, some of which can be completed by Jamf, some of which need to be completed by the administrator for your Jamf Safe Internet account. Jamf will create a new portal in the desired region, with only default settings. The account administrator needs to manually copy all custom activation profiles, policies, and settings to the new portal created by Jamf in the requested data residency region. Until the new portal is ready, you can continue using your current portal. Jamf recommends you do not enroll any new devices or change any policies during the transition period.
Warning:

Upon migration, all existing device and usage data from the original portal will be permanently deleted.

  1. Log in to Jamf Support and submit a support case ticket requesting that your data be moved to your desired region.
    Note:

Jamf Support will create a new Jamf Safe Internet portal for you, and the administrator of your account will receive an email with a link to log into the new portal when it is ready. This may take up to five business days.

  2. Use the link provided by Jamf Support to log in to your new Jamf Safe Internet portal and configure your policies and settings.
    Note:
Jamf recommends configuring these settings to match the current configuration in your original portal, but you can use this opportunity to review and modify your existing settings. For help configuring your settings, see the documentation links below or contact Jamf Support:
  3. (Optional) If your Jamf Safe Internet portal is configured with Jamf School, use Jamf School to sync with your new portal.
    1. In Jamf School, navigate to Organization > Settings > Modules > Safe Internet.
    2. Click Disconnect.
    3. Click Connect.
    4. If the connection fails, wait five minutes and try again. If it continues to fail, update your Jamf Support case ticket and a support representative will contact you.
  4. (Optional) If your Jamf Safe Internet portal is not configured with Jamf School, you must use your UEM to remove all Jamf Safe Internet configuration objects from all devices.
  5. Remove all devices from your original portal outside of standard use hours, to avoid security threats. Once Jamf Trust and Jamf Safe Internet are removed from the devices, they will no longer be protected by any Jamf Safe Internet policies. For more information about removing devices, see Removing Devices from Safe Internet.
  6. Use UEM Connect to sync your UEM with your new Jamf Safe Internet portal. For more information about configuring UEM integration in Jamf Safe Internet, see UEM Connect for Safe Internet.
  7. Enroll your devices in your new Jamf Safe Internet portal. For more information about enrolling devices, see Deployment.
    Note:

As devices are enrolled, they will appear in your new portal with an active Network and UEM checkmark. If they begin to appear in your old portal, check the configuration in your UEM and verify that the device can check in with your UEM. Depending on the UEM and whether your device is online, it may take some time for the changes in your UEM to be reflected on the device.

  8. Update your Jamf Support case ticket to request the removal of your old portal.
    Warning:
    • When a portal is removed, all related data and reports are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

    • If a configuration profile associated with the removed portal is pushed to a device, it may result in the device losing or having degraded network connectivity. Jamf recommends confirming that all configuration profiles in your UEM are deleted before requesting removal of your portal.
