When upgrading the Identity Bridge Agent, you can run an in-place upgrade to preserve existing bridge settings and data.
Best Practice:Jamf recommends taking a hypervisor snapshot prior to upgrading your Identity Bridge Agent.
Requirements
To upgrade the Identity Bridge Agent, you must have the following:
You must have the following minimum specifications:
- Download and install Microsoft .NET 8.0.
- Download the Identity Bridge Agent.
- Stop the Identity Bridge Automation service.
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run window.
- Enter services.msc to open the Services window.
- Locate and right-click the Identity Bridge Automation service.
- Select Stop.
- Copy and retain Identity Bridge Agent data.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\Identity Automation\Identity Bridge Agent.
- Copy the CognitoState.bin and AgentState.bin files.
- Save the CognitoState.bin and AgentState.bin files in a secure location.
- Install the current version of the Identity Bridge Agent.
- Confirm that the Identity Bridge Automation service is running.
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run window.
- Enter services.msc to open the Services window.
- Locate the Identity Bridge Automation service and confirm that the status is Running.
- Confirm that Chisel processes are running.
- Press Control + ALT + Delete.
- Click Task Manager.
- In Background processes, locate chisel.exe, or enter chisel.exe in the search field.
- In your RapidIdentity portal, confirm that the Identity Bridge Agent is connected.
- In the Dashboard pop-up menu, click Configuration.
- In the sidebar, navigate to .
- Locate the Identity Bridge Agent that you installed.
- In the Heartbeat section, confirm that there is a time stamp for the last heartbeat.
- Test any Identity Bridges that you have added to the agent.
A current version of the Identity Bridge Agent is installed and your Identity Bridge settings and data are retained.
