Exchanging Roster Data Using Apple School Manager REST

You can add Apple School Manager REST from the App Library to exchange roster data with Apple School Manager. Apple School Manager REST uses Claris Connect for Apple School Manager to sync data between platforms and conforms to the OneRoster standard for data transmission.

Requirements

  • A managed account in Apple School Manager with administrator privileges

  • A Student Information System integrated with RapidIdentity

  1. In the upper left menu, select Studio to enter the Studio module.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Applications.
  3. Click Add Application > From App Library.
  4. In the App Library search field, type Apple School Manager REST.
  5. Select Apple School Manager REST in the left menu, then select Target in the right menu.
  6. Click Install.
  7. (Optional) In the pop-up window, customize the name of the application.
  8. Click Install.
  9. In the Credentials section, select your authorization protocol:

    • If using OAuth 1.0, select the Signature Method.

    • If using OAuth 2.0, select the Requested Scopes.

  10. Click Generate Client ID or Generate Consumer Key as applicable, then copy the client ID or consumer key.
  11. In the pop-up window, click Generate Consumer Secret or Generate Client Secret as applicable, then copy the secret.
    Note:

    You must provide credentials to Apple School Manager to facilitate data access. Jamf recommends saving the consumer secret or client secret until you can add it to Apple School Manager.

  12. Click Yes to close the window, then click Save.

The target application displays in the My Applications tab.
