The enhanced Forgot Password workflow is available for the legacy login experience and allows you to enable different password reset methods in your policy, including:

  • SMS

  • Email

  • Duo

  • WebAuthn

  • Pictograph

  • Mobile App

  • Portal Challenge

  • Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP)

The end user experience includes the steps below, which demonstrate an enhanced Forgot Password policy with TOTP enabled:

  1. The user clicks Forgot Password to enter the enhanced Forgot Password workflow.

  2. The password reset method that you configured in your Forgot Password policy displays. In this example, the end user must use the TOTP method and enter a temporary passcode.

  3. After the end user is authenticated, they can create a new password that meets the requirements in your password policy. The New Password and Confirm New Password fields must match.

  4. The user receives a confirmation and can return to the login page to authenticate with their new password.
