After installing the Windows Authentication Client, edit the configuration file if the required configuration parameters were not provided during installation or have changed.
- Locate the Server.configuration file in the Identity Automation\RapidIdentity Client for Windows directory and copy it to the desktop.
- Open the copied file in a text editor.
- Under the
[/Workstation] section, set the DefaultDomain value.- Non-domain-joined installation
- Enter a dot, as follows:
DefaultDomain=.. The device must have a local user account configured. The local account password must match the user's RapidIdentity password. You must set passwords to never expire on both the local machine and the RapidIdentity server. - Domain-joined installation
- Enter the NetBIOS domain name, as follows:
DefaultDomain=NetBIOS_name. Ensure that the RapidIdentity server is configured to use the same domain. Windows can then establish a session using the RapidIdentity user account linked to Active Directory. Additionally, users can to reset their domain passwords through the RapidIdentity portal.
- Save the file.
- Move the edited file back to the Identity Automation\RapidIdentity Client for Windows directory.
- Click Replace the file in the destination, and then click Continue to grant administrator permission.
The configuration file is updated.
