Configuring SAML-Based SSO with Let's Talk!

Let's Talk! is a customer experience platform from K12 Insight that supports a SAML-based single sign-on (SSO) service for its web-based application that you can configure in your RapidIdentity portal. These configuration settings are an example and may vary for individual configurations.

Requirements
  • Let's Talk! administrator credentials
  • Access to your RapidIdentity administrator portal
  • Metadata provided by K12 Insight
  1. Navigate to your RapidIdentity administrator portal.
  2. From the module selector, choose Configuration.
  3. Select Security > Identity Providers > Federation Partners.
  4. Click SAML Attributes in the bottom action bar, then click Add LDAP Attribute and configure the following settings:
    1. LDAP Attribute: mail
    2. SAML Name: mail
    3. Friendly Name: Let's Talk Email or something similar
    4. Name Format Friendly Name: URI Reference
  5. Click Save.
  6. Return to Identity Providers > Federation Partners.
  7. Click Add Federation Partner > SAML 2.0, then click Create SAML Relying Party.
  8. In the General section, set the following:
    1. Name: A name for the Relying Party
    2. Description: An optional description
    3. Metadata: Paste the metadata provided by K12 Insight.
  9. In the SSO Settings section, configure the following settings:
    1. Sign SAML2 SSO Assertions: Conditional
    2. Encrypt SAML2 SSO Assertions: Never
  10. Click Create, then click Save.

RapidIdentity and Let's Talk! are now integrated, allowing users to authenticate to Let's Talk! with their RapidIdentity credentials.
