Assigning an API Key to the Service Identity

After creating a service identity, generate an API key and assign it a role. Each key is assigned to a single role. To use multiple roles, create a separate key for each.

Requirements
A service identity in RapidIdentity. For more information, see Adding a Service Identity.
  1. In the dashboard pop-up menu, navigate to Configuration > Security > Service Identities.
  2. Hover over the entry and click Keys in the third column.
    Any previously assigned keys are listed in the ID column.
  3. Click Add Key+ in the upper right.
  4. Enter a Description and select the Authentication API Consumer role.

    To assign multiple roles, click +Add Another Role and select additional roles before saving.

    Note:After a key is saved, additional roles cannot be added to it. Generate a new key to assign additional roles.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Details in the right column to view the new key entry.
    1. Click Show Secret Key to reveal the key value.
    2. Click the Copy icon to copy the secret key to the clipboard.
    3. To disable the key, deselect Enabled and click Save.
