Adding a Windows File Share to Your RapidIdentity Tenant

You can configure file share settings and role-based or attribute-based access in your RapidIdentity portal.

  1. Log in to your RapidIdentity administrator portal.
  2. In the Dashboard pop-up menu, click Files.
  3. In the bottom-left corner, click Settings > File Shares.
  4. In the upper-left corner, click ADD FILE SHARE.
  5. In the NAME field, enter a name for the file share.
  6. In the STATUS menu, select ACTIVE.
  7. In the SHARE TYPE menu, select Windows Share.
  8. In the UNC PATH OR BASE URL field, enter the full DNS name of the file server, Active Directory domain, or DFS namespace.
  9. In the USERNAME OR ACCESS KEY field, enter the username used to authenticate to the host server.
  10. In the PASSWORD OR SECRET KEY field, enter the password used to authenticate to the host server.
  11. In the ACCESS CONTROLS menu, configure access controls.
    1. If you select Role-based, enter INCLUDED ROLES and EXCLUDED ROLES.
    2. If you select Attribute-based, enter LDAP attributes in the Attribute ACL field to define which users are granted access to or excluded from the file share.
  12. Click Save.

Windows file shares are enabled with Identity Bridge protection.
