The Seamless Learning Access app contains the single sign-on extension that authenticates iPad users into learning applications. Deploy the app to managed iPad devices in Jamf School by adding it as a mobile device app, configuring it to install automatically, and pairing it with an associated domain for your RapidIdentity tenant.

Requirements

  • A smart group containing the iPad devices that will receive the app. For information on creating smart groups, see Creating a Smart Device Group in the Jamf School Documentation.

  • The base URL for your RapidIdentity tenant

  • Licenses for the Seamless Learning Access app from Apple School Manager. For more information, see Select and buy content in Apple School Manager from Apple.

  1. Obtain licenses for the app from Apple School Manager, if you have not already done so, by doing the following:
    1. In Jamf School, navigate to Apps > Inventory in the sidebar.
    2. Click +Add App Purchased in Volume.
    3. Log in to Apple School Manager, and then enter "Seamless Learning Access" in the search field.
    4. Choose your location from the pop-up menu.
    5. Enter the quantity of licenses in the Quantity field and then click Get.
    6. Navigate back to Jamf School and click Sync with Apple School Manager.
  2. In the app list, click the Seamless Learning Access app to view the app details.
  3. In the Options section, do the following:
    1. Select the Prevent users from removing the app checkbox.
    2. In the Associated Domains field, enter the associated domain for your RapidIdentity tenant.

      For example, authsrv:sla-demo.us006-rapididentity.com.

      Note:

      Enter the domain without https://. Associated domains use the bare hostname, not a full URL.

    3. Select the Apply Managed Configuration checkbox.
  4. Click Show advanced options.
  5. In the Managed Configuration section, enter the following in the blank text box below "new XML":

  6. Configure the scope by clicking the + icon and choosing the target device group from the pop-up menu.
  7. Click Save in the bottom-right corner.

The Seamless Learning Access app deploys to the iPad devices in the configured scope. The single sign-on extension activates after the app installs, enabling Seamless Learning Access sessions for users on those devices.
