Default policies affect the required authentication methods for users during the user enrollment process. RapidIdentity includes the following preconfigured policies, which are enabled by default for all users:
Claim
The default Claim policy applies to all users and requires them to enter their email address and their corresponding claim code. This policy includes a message that displays upon completion and does not include a user agreement.
Password
The default Password policy applies to all users who are required to enter their password, according to their authentication policy. The default password policy requires the user's password be at least 8 characters long and include an uppercase character, a lowercase character, a number, and a special character. Users are locked out of their account after 5 password failures within 5 minutes.
Forgot Password (Student)
The default student Forgot Password policy applies to all student users who are required to enter their password, according to their authentication policy. The users must authenticate with a code sent to their email address to reset their password.
Forgot Password (Staff)
The default staff Forgot Password policy applies to all staff users who are required to enter their password, according to their authentication policy. The users must authenticate with a text message sent to their mobile device to reset their password.
Forgot Password (Sponsored)
The default sponsored Forgot Password policy applies to all sponsored users who are required to enter their password, according to their authentication policy. The users must authenticate with a pictograph displayed in their web browser to reset their password.
