Creating a Unified Authentication Policy

Unified authentication policies allow administrators to enforce different types of authentication protocols and workflows for various user roles and groups.

Requirements

Access to your RapidIdentity administrator portal

  1. Navigate to your RapidIdentity administrator portal.
  2. From the Dashboard pop-up menu, choose "Configuration".
  3. In the Policies section, click Authentication.
  4. Click Add Policy.
  5. In the General tab, add a name and description for the policy, and then click Save.
  6. In the Criteria tab, modify the criteria for who, when, and where this policy should be in effect.

    For example, the policy can apply to the Teachers group from Monday through Friday on the school's Wi-Fi network.

  7. In the Authentication Methods tab, click Add Method to add a required authentication method for users during the login process.
  8. (Optional) Click Add Method to add additional methods which can be set as a required method, or available as a secondary authentication method which users can select from.
  9. In the User Agreement tab, enable or disable a user agreement using the checkbox..

    If you enable user a agreement, you can make an additional selection to set the frequency at which it is displayed. For more information about how to create and configure a user agreement policy, see Configuring User Agreement Policies.

  10. Click Save.

The authentication policy now enforces the configured criteria for the selected users.
