This task applies only to RapidIdentity instances with unified login that exclusively use Seamless Learning Access.

Seamless Learning Access users do not need to authenticate to RapidIdentity directly, but the single sign-on extension can fail to establish an authenticated session with RapidIdentity. Creating an authentication policy for Seamless Learning Access with a password as the only authentication method provides a fallback for your users.

Note:

Seamless Learning Access users who need to authenticate with RapidIdentity must have a password set for them by the administrator. Seamless Learning Access users do not have accessible passwords by default.

Requirements

Access to your RapidIdentity administrator portal

  1. Navigate to your RapidIdentity administrator portal.
  2. From the module selector, choose "Configuration".
  3. In the Policies section, click Unified Authentication Policies.
  4. Click Add policy.
  5. Enter Seamless Learning Access Authentication Policy in the Name field, and then click Save.
  6. Click the Criteria tab.
  7. In the Who section, configure the user criteria.
    1. Toggle on Enabled.
    2. From the Access control pop-up menu, choose "Attribute-based".
    3. Enter idautoPersonSLAID=* in the LDAP filter field.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Click the Authentication methods tab.
  10. Click Add method, select the Password checkbox, and then click Save.
  11. In the General section, toggle on Enabled, and then click Save.

The Seamless Learning Access authentication policy is enabled. Users with the idautoPersonSLAID attribute populated can authenticate to RapidIdentity with a password when the single sign-on extension cannot establish a session.
