If your organization uses unified login and federates with Jamf Connect for authentication, your staff authentication policy requires a specific method order for sign-in to work correctly. This applies to any staff user group whose accounts are used to log in through Jamf Connect.

Requirements
  • Access to your RapidIdentity administrator portal
  • A staff authentication policy used for Jamf Connect sign-in
  1. Navigate to your RapidIdentity administrator portal.
  2. From the Dashboard pop-up menu, choose Configuration.
  3. In the Policies section, click Authentication.
  4. Open your staff authentication policy, and then click the Authentication Methods tab.
  5. Sort the MFA method as the first required step.
  6. Sort the password method as the second required step.

Both the MFA method and password must be set to Required. A fixed method order removes the option for users to choose their own method order, which is necessary for Jamf Connect to work correctly.

  7. Click Save.

Staff users who authenticate through Jamf Connect enter their MFA code first and their password second. Users do not see a method selection option. Jamf Connect receives the password as the last credential entered, and the login attempt succeeds.
