Offline Deployment Mode is a separate implementation of Jamf Protect that secures devices without connecting or sending data to the Jamf Protect Cloud. Instead of interfacing with the Jamf Protect Cloud, telemetry logs are written to the local disk or a customer-defined network location.

Offline Deployment Mode lets you configure settings, obtain installer packages, and download configuration profiles for deployment via an MDM solution.

The simplified macOS Security portal includes these feature sets of Jamf Protect:

  • Plans and Exception Sets

  • Actions

  • Unified logging

  • Telemetry

  • Account

  • Downloads

  • Audit logs

Configuring Jamf Protect Offline Deployment Mode requires that you complete the following tasks:

  1. Create an action configuration that includes one or more data collection endpoints.

  2. Create a telemetry configuration.

See Creating a Telemetry Configuration for more information.

  3. Create a unified logging filter.

See Creating a Unified Log Filter for more information.

  4. (Optional) Configure an exception set to optimize the volume of collected telemetry data.

  5. Create a plan.

  6. Download plan configuration profiles and the Jamf Protect installer PKG for deployment via an MDM solution.
