Plans are comprehensive macOS security configurations that are deployed to computers as configuration profiles.

You can deploy plans to multiple devices and configure a unique scope for each configuration profile.
Important:

Do not deploy more than one plan to a single device. Doing so can cause a mismatch between the plan's bootstrap token and configuration profile. This mismatch can cause issues with communication and undesired behaviors.

  1. In Jamf Protect, click Plans.
  2. Click Create Plan at the top of the page.
  3. Give your plan a name and description.
  4. Under Telemetry, add a telemetry configuration. Only one telemetry configuration can be added to a plan.
  5. (Optional) Under Unified Logging, add one or more unified log filter sets.
  6. Configure the following in the Advanced Settings section:
    1. Choose a level from the Log level menu to configure the log level of Jamf Protect on computers.
      Note:

      The Log level setting determines the verbosity of information sent to the macOS Unified Log by the Jamf Protect agent on a device. Each log level builds on the previous one to include more information.

      Jamf recommends leaving this setting at its default, which is Error.

    2. Choose an exception set from the Exception sets menu to add any exceptions that will be exempted from triggering alerts.
    3. Select an action configuration from the Action configuration menu.
      Note:

      If you have not created an action configuration, only the Default action will be available. To create your own action configuration, see Creating an Offline Deployment Mode Action Configuration.

  7. Click Save.
On the Plans page, the new plan appears in the list.

You can now download the plan configuration profile and installer package, and then upload them to an MDM solution for deployment.
